Welcome to our

Online Appraisal Network

We’ve taken the most complex gemstone to appraise, and respectfully created a very Simple, straightforward yet comprehensive approach for opal buyers and sellers to give fairly accurate online appraisals / Rough Estimates.

Essentially, every piece of high grade opal can have 2 values. One value which represents what the piece is truly worth, (high end- price per carat value) as it would be appraised by a gemologist. The other value represents a Fair Market Value price point (dictated by current trends) in which the piece can be sold Quickly. Our approach for giving online estimates can hopefully produce estimates within the range of these two value points.

The Purpose of our ‘Rough Estimates’ Online Appraisal Network, is to provide clarity and transparency to the estimated market value of a Portfolio, Parcel or individual piece of high grade Opal. Our Portfolios can transform an opal collection, into a Visible Tangible Asset that has been organized for inheritance. Connecting general estimates as well as verified estimates/appraisals to the Portfolios, allows the recipient of the opal collection to have a comprehensive understanding of what they’ve received, including it’s estimated value.

A Network Designed for Experienced/Active Opal Buyers and Sellers

We believe that there is no one better qualified to give Online Estimates on the Market Value of Opal, than the people who are Active Online Buyers and Sellers of Australian Opal.

HOW TO GIVE A ROUGH ESTIMATE

#1 – You can use the piece(s) Previous Estimates as a rough Guide, to help determine the specific value or value range for a piece or parcel.

#2 – When determining a rough Estimate, Remember that you are Not making an offer to buy the piece(s). Do Not think about how much you would offer to buy the piece(s), but Rather, imagine that you had the piece or parcel in Your personal collection, and are determining the minimum price that You would sell it for.

#3 – Assume that the piece(s) are clean and without any cracks, flaws or inclusions. Parcel Owners will be required to list any visible flaws, cracks or inclusions in their piece(s), therefore Your Estimate can be based on the assumption that the piece(s) are flawless, unless inclusions are visible or it’s stated otherwise.

STAR RATING SYSTEM

Our Star Rating System is simple, but plays an intrigual part in creating a comprehensive and complete Market Value Estimate.

Rough Estimates will represent the piece(s) Estimated Dollar Value, while The Star Rating represents the piece(s) Market Appeal. Simply use the Star Rating to give from 1 to 5 Stars, based purely on the piece(s) Appeal.
